Former heavyweight world champion Mike Tyson, 58, will fight Jake Paul, 27, one of the world’s most well-known “tumblers” in November.
Mike Tyson’s and Jake Paul’s was originally supposed to take place on July 20, but the 58-year-old Tyson was troubled by a stomach wound from the beginning of the summer, because of which the match was postponed.
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson will face Paul in a heavyweight bout in Texas, USA on November 15.
Tyson is one of the most feared boxers in history. He was the world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. Tyson’s last professional fight is from 2005, but his statistics speak for themselves: 58 fights, 50 wins, 44 of them by knockout.
Tyson and Paul held a press conference in New York on Sunday, where they answered questions from the media.
Among other things, the 58-year-old Tyson was asked why he is returning to the ring after such a long break.
– Because I can do it. Who else could it be but me? We’ve got a ‘stunner’ going up against the greatest boxer of all time, Tyson said.
– As soon as I catch Paul in the match, it’s over. He will run like a thief, Tyson added.
Jake Paul, who is 31 years younger than Tyson, arrived at the press conference confident in his style.
– I’m here to make $40 million and knock out a legend.
“I love Mike and I respect him, but we’re not friends until November 15,” he added.
Paul first became famous for his videos uploaded to the internet, which he still does as his brother Logan Paul’s29, with. Paul switched to boxing in 2018 and has been fighting professionally since 2019.
He has appeared in seven matches, won six of them, four of them by knockout. In his last match in 2023 in February, Paul lost For Tommy Furywhich is Tyson Fury’s younger half brother.
