Eurozone, trade surplus grows in June

(Finance) – The surplus of the trade balance of the Eurozone in June, recording a surplus of 22.3 billion euros, compared to the surplus of 13.9 billion in May and 18 billion in June 2023. The figure compares with the 13.3 billion expected by analysts.

The report, made public by theStatistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat)indicates that exports amounted to 236.7 billion euros, down 6.3% on the year, while imports in the same period fell by 8.6% to 234.5 billion euros.

Trade within the single currency area stood at €234.5 billion, down 8.5% compared to June 2023.

For the entire European Union, there was a surplus of 14 billion euros. exports fell by 6.3%, while the imports recorded a decline of 8.6% compared to the previous year.
