Arriving in Azerbaijan, Putin was welcomed by Azerbaijani First Deputy Prime Minister Yakup Eyyubov and Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in the capital Baku.
THEY HOSTED PUTIN IN THEIR HOMES
After the welcome, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva hosted Putin at their home. Putin, Ilham Aliyev and Mehriban Aliyeva had dinner together.
AGREEMENTS WILL BE SIGNED
Putin will also meet with Aliyev tomorrow. The leaders will discuss Russia-Azerbaijan relations, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and current international and regional issues. As part of the visit, Putin and Aliyev will sign a joint declaration, and a number of agreements will be signed between the two countries.
“In addition to the further development of strategic partnership and allied relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, current international and regional issues will be discussed. A joint statement will be adopted by the presidents of the two countries, and a number of intergovernmental and other agreements will be signed,” the Kremlin Palace said in a statement. (AA-İHA)
