President of Russia Vladimir Putin has arrived on a state visit to Azerbaijan, says state-controlled Interfax news agency.
During his two-day visit, Putin will hold talks with the president in Baku Ilham Aliyev with, among other things, relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Putin has visited the Caucasus region for the last time in 2018. Russia’s influence in the region has weakened in recent years, and especially during the war of aggression started by the country in Ukraine.
