Kouvola and Manse started with victories in the quarterfinals of the men’s Superpesis.
The men of Kouvola Ballonlöjien took the most convincing victory in the opening games of the quarterfinals of Superpesis, when the team that finished second in the regular season beat Kiteen Ballo 2–0 (5–0, 4–1). KiPa’s three-pointers remained at three.
KiPa, who collected ten top hits in the opening period, built its first three-point situation only one stroke before the break. Kiteela made more mistakes in most outings than KPL in the entire game.
Kopla’s gunners were Koppi who hit three runs to a man Teemu Nikkanen and the joker Patrik Wahlsten. Second guard Matti Latvala (tip shots 5/5) salted four guests forwards and succeeded in everything with the stick. The three-point situations in the opening period were scarce, 3-2. Jokers were enough for Manselle to win the episode Perttu Ruuskan and Lauri Kivinen repatriations. The winning run of the second period was sparked by a third down Topias Lilja.
Mansen’s winners were Ruuska, who hit two runs (hits 4/6) and Poltja, who hit in the second spot Kalle-Tapio Huusko (tip shots 4/5).
