The police have fired warning shots and active fire against a threatening man in the municipality of Tierp.

Now the man has been arrested.

At lunchtime on Sunday, the police were alerted that a man was behaving in a threatening manner. When the police arrive, the man becomes aggressive towards them as well and is said to have had some form of affection.

– A situation arises where you first fire warning shots and then you also fire active fire. The active fire should not have hit the person, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson at the police.

At 16.30 the man could be arrested.

– In connection with the arrest, we used, among other things, a distraction grenade, says Magnus Jansson Klarin.

A distraction grenade is used to get a person out of focus. Through several bangs it sounds like a gunshot.

The man is now suspected of, among other things, gross illegal threats.

– There will be more classifications, says Jansson Klarin.

The police are working with interrogations and house searches at an address in the area.

No one should have been injured during the operation.
