The X-Men have shown many abilities in their long history. Some are stronger than others. But there are some that are almost useless and that nobody would want to have. We present 10 of them to you here.

How was this list created? This list shows mutants and their abilities from the X-Men and Marvel universe. It’s not just about basically useless abilities, but also abilities with major disadvantages.

We’ll leave out characters like Long Neck, who has a long neck, or Jazz, who is just blue. If you think a certain character is missing from the list, let us know in the comments.

10. Rogue

First appearance: 1981 in Avengers Annual #10

Rogue is a well-known character in the X-Men universe and is part of the main group of mutants. Basically, her abilities sound really good: she can fly, has superhuman strength and reflexes.

Her main power, however, is the absorption of her opponents’ abilities and power. To do this, her skin only has to touch the opponent’s skin. However, in many comics, this means that she cannot have contact with friends and family because she cannot always control the intensity of the absorption (via Marvel.com).

9. Glob Herman

First appearance: 2001 in New X-Men #117

Glob Herman has invisible skin, but only skin. His body is made of a special wax that makes his skin transparent, but not his organs and bones. He can set himself on fire without suffering any harm.

His resistances are also increased and he can withstand explosions much better than others. The big disadvantage of his ability: In battle, the opponent can always aim precisely at his organs (via Marvel.com).

8. Maggot

First appearance: 1997 in Uncanny X-Men #345

Maggott does not have a normal metabolism. He cannot eat. Instead, he has two snail monsters named Eany and Meany. They can eat almost any material and give him the energy in his body.

This allows him to gain more strength and stamina than a normal human. The problem is, if he is separated from his snails for a certain amount of time, he will die because he has no digestive system (via Marvel Database).
