(Finance) – It’s not vacation time for everyone. The Ferragosto holiday was made possible by the “significant number” of Italians who went to work. We’re talking about approximately 4.5 million workers, sAccording to an estimate by Susini Group, they have guaranteed their presence especially in the tourism and essential services sectors. According to the research, during the summer period, from June to August, Italy experiences significant economic activity and it is estimated that over 6.8 million Italians will spend this period at work.
Key sectors of summer employment are tourism for 23%, hospital for 12%, retail trade for 17%, agriculture for 11%, entertainment and leisure services for 6%, public safety for 4% and events and festivals for 3%. The GDP produced in these three summer months is around 550 billion euros.
