Several loud bangs have been heard in central Alingsås. The police were called to an address just before 11 p.m.
– There have been some kind of strong explosions. Someone has thrown a firecracker or banger at a villa and a windowpane to a hall has been broken, says Mile Hristovski, officer on duty at police region west.
The police will continue to carry out general reconnaissance.
– It seems to be a recurring problem in Alingsås that someone or a few have thrown firecrackers. We have received some tips that we are working on, says Mile Hristovski.
The incident is classified as aggravated vandalism.

A woman in her 70s has died after a motorcycle accident outside Gnesta writes P4 Sörmland.
Relatives have been notified.
A motorcyclist with a passenger is said to have rolled over, according to the police.
The accident happened at 12:30 and is said to be a one-person accident.

Extreme misogyny will be treated as terrorism for the first time in Britain, writes The Telegraph.
The country will therefore treat extreme misogyny in the same way as Islamist extremism and right-wing extremism.
The decision comes after warnings that misogynist influencers are radicalizing teenage boys online.
The decision is part of a major overhaul of the country’s counter-terrorism strategy, ordered by Home Secretary Yvette Cooper.
In early March, the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Mark Rowley, said that violence against women must be treated as terrorism, according to The Telegraph.
There is a fire in a Ferris wheel in Leipzig, according to German Bild.
The Ferris wheel is one of the attractions at a festival going on in the city.
Around 30 people are said to have been injured in the fire and are now being treated in hospital.
– The fire broke out in a gondola for an unknown reason and then spread to a second gondola, says the police spokesperson.
The cause of the fire is still unclear.

Platform X is withdrawing all personnel the company has in Brazil following a legal dispute over the company’s rights and obligations.
X, owned by CEO Elon Musk, is withdrawing all staff “with immediate effect,” but says access to X in Brazil will continue as usual.
The origin of the dispute is, according to X, that judge Alexandre de Moraes allegedly threatened to detain the company’s lawyer if X did not meet certain requirements.
The judge and company X have previously found themselves on a collision course in matters relating to freedom of expression, accounts belonging to right-wing extremist groups and disinformation.
A fight broke out in Kungsträdgården on Saturday evening. A couple of middle-aged men allegedly started arguing after an intense chess match.
Max, 19, witnessed the incident.
He says that there were a number of men in their 40s and 50s who were standing and playing when another man came forward and pointed out the next move one of the players should make.
– It was at an important stage in the match and they got very angry and accused the man of cheating. There was an exchange of words and a fight back and forth and then it happened, says Max.
In a video that Aftonbladet has seen, one of the people involved can be seen running after one of the men and dealing blows.
– He hit him from behind when he wasn’t looking, then it was a full-on fight. They crashed into lots of objects and fences, says Max.
They went at it for a couple of minutes before it ended in checkmate. A number of security guards came to the scene and managed to separate the men.
Police later came to the scene and carried out a check on a number of people.
– We were there and carried out an inspection. But no report has been drawn up, says Robert Sennerdahl, police spokesperson.

Israeli negotiators are expressing “cautious optimism” about moving closer to an agreement on a Gaza ceasefire, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office.
This week talks about a ceasefire have been held in Qatar’s capital Doha, which were concluded on Friday. Terrorist-branded Hamas has so far not participated directly in the talks, and has dismissed what it says are “new conditions” from Israel for a ceasefire.
Israel says it hopes to approach an agreement based on a proposal put forward by mediator the United States this week.
“There is hope that the heavy pressure on Hamas from the United States and the mediators will lead to the disappearance of their opposition to the American proposal, which could potentially allow a breakthrough in the negotiations,” the office said in a statement.
That an agreement on a ceasefire would be close was dismissed by Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri.
– Saying that we are getting close to a settlement is an illusion, he tells the AFP news agency.
The earthquake took place in the sea off the Kamchatka Peninsula.
A strong earthquake has occurred off the Kamchatka Peninsula in easternmost Russia.
According to the USGS, it is 7.4 in magnitude.
A tsunami warning was issued, according to the European earthquake watchdog EMSC’s website.
According to the state-run Russian news agency Ria another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 occurred. Later, there were several aftershocks with magnitudes of 3.9.
Ria also writes that the Russian Ministry of Emergencies believes that there is no risk of a tsunami.
There is also no tsunami threat for the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, Canada or the US West Coast, according to the US Tsunami Warning System.

The UN aid agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, says Israel has shrunk what it calls a humanitarian zone to 11 percent of Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera there are at least 1.9 million Palestinians who have had to leave their homes who are within this 11 percent.

The humanitarian crisis in war-torn Sudan looks set to worsen further with a major cholera outbreak in the wake of floods.
– We classify the cholera outbreak as an epidemic. This is because of weather conditions and because the drinking water has become contaminated, says Health Minister Haitham Ibrahim in a video statement.
He adds that the decision was made in consultation with authorities in Kassala state in eastern Sudan, which has been hit hard by several weeks of heavy rains. Thousands of people have been forced to flee by the floods.
Sudan is then ravaged in April 2023 by a civil war between government forces and the paramilitary group Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The conflict has triggered the world’s currently worst humanitarian crisis, where over ten million people have been forced to flee their homes and at least 25 million people are threatened by famine.
The police in Helsingborg are alerted about a man in his 20s who has received suspected stab or cut injuries.
The crime scene itself is unknown, but the man is indoors.
Police and ambulance are on the scene.
The man is awake and talkative. He is taken to hospital by ambulance.
The police are working with information retrieval and will hold interviews with the 20-year-old at the hospital.

One person is arrested. The case is classified as aggravated assault.
The police were called to a shop in Farsta in Stockholm after a person was beaten and robbed by several other people.
Afterwards, the perpetrators run from the scene.
On the spot, the police start hunting for the people and are then able to arrest two people.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into aggravated robbery.
The emergency services have been alerted to a villa in Smögen, write P4 West.
From the villa, black smoke will pour from the basement.
According to the rescue service, they are on site with a large number of units, writes the radio.
It is unclear how big the fire is at the moment.

The police were looking for a seven-year-old boy who was last seen on Stortorget in Kalmar. He had come from his mother.
An Ironman competition is going on and there are a lot of people in town.
The boy is found and well preserved.
