In the 2023–2024 season, the ice hockey league’s HIFK made a record turnover, but a loss of 900,000 euros, the club announced.

Oy HIFK-Hockey Ab group’s net sales in the fiscal year ended at the end of April was more than 17 million euros, of which the parent company’s share was 10.9 million euros, the restaurant business’s share was 5.7 million euros, and the event business’s share was well over 600,000 euros.

According to HIFK, the result is burdened by the costs incurred from starting the own restaurant business, the costs related to organizational changes, the increased general cost level and exceeding the player’s budget. It is said that HIFK’s fall in the quarter-finals and “unexpected payment difficulties of some partners” also had a negative impact on the result.

In the spring, HIFK started an extensive strategy and change process and hired a new CEO by Alexander Sneen and sports director Janne Pesonen.
