When a woman cheats, it is often for these reasons.

Infidelity in a couple destabilizes the relationship and very often, the cheated person ends it. Generally speaking, we more often talk about men cheating on their partners. But some women also cheat on their husbands. For what reasons? Here are ten, according to a study reported by Psychology Today.

Here are ten reasons why women cheat

In this work, the researchers studied the responses of 116 women and 138 men from different countries, whose common point was to have been unfaithful, in their love life. According to the women, here are the reasons that explain their behavior.

They are unhappy with their current relationship

This is the most common reason, accounting for 65% of cases. When women are unhappy, it puts them (and their relationship) at risk of infidelity. Women are twice as likely as men to report this as a reason for their infidelity.

They notice a disengagement from their partner

In 22% of cases, this is the reason given by women. When they feel that their main partner is not invested in their relationship, this can be a reason for infidelity. Four times more women than men explain their past infidelity as a result of this state of affairs.

They want revenge

This is the explanation given by 15% of women surveyed. When women find out that their partner has had an affair, it can motivate them to do the same. In fact, women are five times more likely than men to cheat for this reason.

They are bored or looking for something new

This reason was reported by nearly 13% of respondents. Women whose lives seem boring or unexciting might see an appeal in infidelity.

They are sexually unsatisfied

8% of women gave this explanation. It would seem that when women are not satisfied with their sex life with their partner, they resort to infidelity to find another sexual partner.

They have the opportunity

Sometimes it’s just the opportunity to cheat on your partner that presents itself. These women explain that they meet someone, and one thing leads to another…

They seek validation or special attention

Nearly 7% of women give this answer to explain their infidelity. If women do not feel valued in their relationship, this reason can serve as a pretext for infidelity.

They love or desire their lover

You might think that this reason would be the main one, but no. Only 7% of women explain it to justify their infidelity.

They know their relationship is about to end

In 6% of cases, women explain their infidelity by the fact that their relationship is about to end. Cheating can then be an accelerator to end it more quickly or a bandage, to avoid suffering too much.

They are in a long distance relationship

Finally, in 3% of cases, these women are in a long-distance relationship. In fact, opportunities to spend time together are rarer, leaving more opportunities for an extramarital relationship to develop.
