For many years time was Leif GW Persson a standing feature in TV4’s Nyhetsmorgon, where he reviewed the week’s crime case. But in May 2024, he made an unexpected announcement, revealing on air that he is leaving the show.
– Can I take a small personal message? Without, for that matter, giving a speech to the nation. But this will be my last appearance in Nyhetsmorgon, the criminologist said at the time.

The somewhat surprised presenter Jenny Alversjö expressed that Leif GW Persson will be missing from the box.
– Are you going to stop here in Nyhetsmorgon Leif? Now I’m getting very emotional here, you bring big news like this on Sunday, Alversjö said.
Camilla Kvartoft and Leif GW Persson make a comeback in “The Week”
Shortly thereafter, it was revealed in SVT’s Morgonstudion that Leif GW Persson and Camilla Kvartoft are reunited in the new studio program “The Week”. It has been six years since GW Persson and Kvartoft did the popular “Crime of the Week” together, and the radar couple is now doing another program together with a focus on social issues and crime.

Leif GW Persson and Camilla Kvartoft: “Are there expectations”
On August 14, it was finally time for Leif GW Persson and Camilla Kvartoft to officially make a comeback in the television box when the premiere episode of “The Week” was shown on SVT.
News24 met the duo shortly after the first episode, and asked GW Persson and Kvartoft about the premiere.
How were the premiere nerves before the first episode?
– No, I don’t feel anything like that. It worked as I had hoped, I think, but I wasn’t nervous. This does not mean that you know in advance how it will turn out. I thought it went as I had hoped, says Leif GW Persson.
– You could sense that there are expectations of you, interjects Camilla Kvartoft.

You also have a great interest in food, Leif. Have you been out for dinner? Any kickoff?
– Well, well, well. The food items in the program, you can forget about them. But it’s a Nyhetsmorgon feature, but we don’t have that. There will be crimes and moral issues, human failings, explains Leif GW Persson.
But maybe an AW together?
– Yes, but not in the box.
Do you miss News Morning?
– Yes, of course I do. It was a very pleasant workplace. You miss all pleasant workplaces, says Leif GW Persson.
