The Warrior / The Warrioress

  • Weapon type 1: sword and shield
  • Weapon type 2: Two-handed weapon
  • Warriors direct the course of a battle, as a tank or as an offensive force. Here are the three specializations of the warrior:

  • champion: A tactician who uses shield and sword and focuses on defense. Champions often feel a connection to the Grey Wardens.
  • Reapers: Drains the life from the enemy in battle. Risks one’s own health to gain unnatural powers. Reapers therefore fit in with Nevarra’s Mourning Watch.
  • Slayer: An offensive-minded front-line soldier who prefers to rush into battle with a powerful two-handed weapon. Often found among the Masters of Fate.
  • The warrior from Dragon Age: The Veilguard in action.

    The Magician / The Magician

  • Weapon type/alignment: Staff in ranged combat
  • Weapon type/alignment: Short-range staff
  • Mages rain chaos and destruction down on their opponents – with spells that burn, freeze, crush or electrocute them. It is currently unclear whether mages can also use different weapons in battle. These are the three specializations of the mage class:

  • Death Caller: A necromancer who casts advanced spirit magic. Those who have already dealt with the factions will feel the connection to the Mourning Watch.
  • Spellblade: A frontline mage who relies on magical melee attacks and is associated with the Crows of Antiva.
  • Evoker: The typical elemental magician who uses the powers of ice, fire and lightning. Is assigned to the shadow dragons.
  • The mage from Dragon Age: The Veilguard in action.

    The Villain / The Villain

  • Weapon Type 1: Bow
  • Weapon type 2: two swords
  • Fast movements and reflexes are the hallmarks of rogues. These are the three specializations of the rogue guild:

  • Duelist: The cliché image of a villain, with two short blades to deliver quick and precise blows. Belongs, of course, to the assassin guild of the Crows of Antiva.
  • saboteur: An expert in traps and explosives who likes to join the Masters of Fate.
  • Veil Ranger: The pure ranged fighter relies on lightning magic and the bow. The name already spoils the connection to the Veil Jumpers.
  • The villain of Dragon Age: The Veilguard in action.

    Character progression

As you level up, you unlock skill points for Rook, which you can invest in your class’s talent tree. You start in the center and can then skill your character in different directions from there.

From the outer skill ring, there are three more nodes, each of which belongs to a specialization of your class. There are also three further areas where you can optimize your focus on factors such as burst damage, control, survival, weapons or skills.

Note that with Rook you can choose a specialization even if you don’t belong to the corresponding faction. The connection between specialization and faction is more of a thematic nature.
