Manchester United to a narrow opening victory in the Premier

ManU beat Fulham 1–0 at home in the opening match of the English Premier League football season. The decisive goal came only a few minutes before full time.

The English Premier League kicked off at the legendary Old Trafford when Manchester United hosted Fulham. The traditional successful club ManU controlled more of the ball in the match, but scored its only remaining goal only in the final moments, when Joshua Zirkzee succeeded on his debut and steered United into the lead.

Fulham started the match strongly and created pressure on the end of the home team. ManU improved as the half progressed and created the best scoring opportunities. Midfielder Bruno Fernandes got to try from a great spot after half an hour, but the Fulham keeper Bernd Leno blocked the Portuguese star’s shot superbly with his leg.

In the second half, Fulham had several promising counterattacks, when the home team’s field balance failed once more. When Fulham didn’t take their chances, 23-year-old Zirkzee’s goal was enough for ManU to win. United also had opportunities to score additional goals, but poor finishing or Leno’s saves kept the home team to only one complete hit.
