The Norwegian Public Health Authority issues recommendations for mpox

If you have been in an area with ongoing spread of mpox and are traveling into Sweden, you should pay attention to symptoms such as painful blisters and sores, writes The Public Health Agency on its website.

According to the Public Health Authority, one should be aware of symptoms for three weeks after returning home.

You should also contact healthcare for advice if you have been in close contact with a person suspected of having or confirmed to have mpox. Regardless of whether you have symptoms or not.

If you are going to travel abroad, the Public Health Agency recommends that you find out if there is an ongoing spread in the area you are traveling to. If you are in an area with an ongoing spread, you should avoid close contact and sexual contact. You should also investigate whether you are covered by The Public Health Agency’s recommendations for vaccines.
