Now the exact time of the return has been announced, along with the astonishing number of episodes in which the Middle Earth reunion will take place.

For a long time, it was unclear how many episodes Prime Video would release at once for the start of Season 2. The fan site Fellowship of Fans has now announced (and Amazon confirmed the information to Moviepilot): Three episodes in one go await us for the series return on August 29, 2024. The rest of the eight episodes will be released weekly after that. Season 1 started two years ago with only two episodes at a time.

According to FoF, the exact start time of The Rings of Power Season 2 is now known and will take place simultaneously worldwide. At midnight PDT (Pacific Daylight Time, i.e. the American time on the West Coast) and 7 a.m. GMT (Greenwich Mean Time, i.e. London time), Amazon will release the three new episodes on Prime Video *. This corresponds to a time of 9 a.m. German time on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
