Now the weather is turning – here it will rain and thunder this weekend

Now the weather is turning here it will rain

The summer began in the best possible way with bright sun, high temperatures and warm evenings in most of the country. Then came the twist.

Just before midsummer week began, the weather began to fluctuate. Instead of high pressure, it was strong low pressure containing rain, thunder and even floods that ravaged several places.

As more and more people had their homes flooded, the Swedish Agency for Community Protection and Preparedness, MSB, issued an updated list of cities that are in the risk zone of being affected by floods.

Eskilstuna, Gävle, Sundsvall, Varberg and Västerås were added to the list of existing cities where both Falun, Gothenburg, Halmstad and Jönköping already existed.

SMHI: Here it will be sunny and 23 degrees

Recently, the weather has mixed and given. On some days, large parts of the country have had to witness clouds and precipitation, and on other days to witness bright sun and temperatures of up to 25 degrees.

For the past week, the nice weather has even been persistent.

Ahead of the weekend, sun and relatively high temperatures are expected to continue to reign.

SMHI’s meteorologist Sofia Söderberg tells for News24 where the weather will be at its best this weekend.

– It has erupted over a large part of the country and most of the cloud and rain has moved away. This weekend it will be sunny in several places, especially in the middle parts of the country, she says and adds:

– More sun is expected on Saturday and it is mainly in Götaland and in parts of Svealand which will occasionally see some clouds interspersed with sun with temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees. In Norrland there is a break and sun during Sunday, around 18-23 degrees.

SMHI: It will rain and thunder here

However, the sun will not be visible everywhere. Söderberg says that the ends of the country will see both cloudiness and rain already during Friday afternoon.

– Rain and larger showers can find their way over south-eastern Götaland and north-western Svealand and it is mainly in Götaland and northern Norrland that there may be intermittent cloudiness and showers with some elements of thunder. But in Norrland there will be breaks and sun, around 18-23 degrees, throughout Sunday.

Despite rain and thunder in some places, the temperatures will not disappoint. This can then result in it being quite humid in connection with worse weather.

– Temperatures will generally be around 18-23 degrees as there is some warm air moving in from the west, Söderberg tells Nyheter24.
