Chiles said that after the incident, he received hate mail on social media, which is why the gymnast withdrew from social media.

On Thursday, Chiles returned to social media and opened up about the situation. Chiles said he was “heartbroken”.

– I have no words. These decisions feel unfair and are a significant blow, not only to me but to everyone who has defended my journey. What’s heartbreaking are the racist attacks on me on social media. They are extremely offensive.

Chiles said he will continue to fight for the bronze medal.

– I approach this challenge like everyone else – I will do everything I can to ensure that justice is done, Chiles wrote.

USA Gymnastics previously said in a statement that it is not satisfied with the CAS decision and plans to appeal the matter to the Swiss Federal Court. The headquarters of CAS is located in Lausanne, Switzerland.
