If you like blunt and bloody zombie fighting, you can let off steam in Dead Island 2 in 2023. In Los Angeles, you fight against countless undead, even in co-op. The studio behind the game has now announced that it will be delivering two new modes for free in October.
What kind of game is Dead Island 2? Dead Island 2 had a chaotic development history. Fans had to wait years for the sequel, but it finally came out in 2023 and was a solid success. In the game, you have to defend yourself against zombie hordes in LA. To do this, you have a variety of crazy long-range and close-range weapons, some of which you can combine with new elements and other weapons.
All of this was also possible in co-op. After the release, two paid story DLCs followed. Over a year after the release, the studio behind Dead Island 2, Dambuster Studios, announced new content for the zombie game. Two new modes are due to be released soon and they are free for all players.

2 new modes with new content
What are these new modes? First up is a New Game Plus mode. In it, you’ll be able to play through the game’s main story again with a new level of difficulty. To make things a bit fresher, there will be a new skill slot and a new level cap.
In addition, there will be new skins and weapons with which you can defeat new enemies.
The more interesting new content is the Neighborhood Watch mode. In the new Horde mode, you and your friends have to defend a house from zombie hordes.
The mode is supposed to take place in 5 stages, which are structured as days. You have to complete missions, lay traps and upgrade your arsenal. On the fifth day, the massive wave comes, which will demand a lot from you.
This mode will also feature new weapons, skins, a new location and new mechanics that were not previously available in the game.
When will the update be released? Patch 6 is scheduled to be released on October 22, 2024, making New Game Plus mode and Neighborhood Watch available to everyone for free. You can play the game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic.
