Jonas Falk and the new suspects

TBE the death and the worry Aftonbladet podcast

▸ Jonas Falk, or Oredsson as he was previously called, has been described as the mastermind behind Operation Playa – Sweden’s biggest drug target of all time. He was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Stockholm District Court, but was later acquitted by the Court of Appeal. In the years that have passed, Falk has continued to have problems with justice. In 2021 he was sentenced to prison in Spain and the following year he was arrested again, suspected of collaboration with one of Europe’s most powerful drug networks. He himself denies all crimes, and believes that the police are doing everything to put him there as revenge for his acquittal in the “Playa” trial. This week the news came that Falk was requested to be detained in Sweden, and a few hours later he was arrested in Spain. Who really is Jonas Falk? What is he suspected of now? And how likely is it that he will actually be convicted this time? Guest: Oisin Cantwell, news columnist at Aftonbladet. Producer and presenter: Olivia Bengtsson. Clip: Aftonbladet, Sveriges Radio.
