The men’s Superpesi quarterfinals start next weekend.

Imatra’s Pallo-Veikko men’s season in Superpesis ended on Thursday with a home loss against Kiteen Pallo 0–2 (1–3, 4–7).

KiPa made it to the top eight with a 2–0 win. From Sunday, Kiteela will challenge Kouvola’s Ballonlöjät, the second runner-up in the regular season, in the quarterfinals.

– Now we got the inside game open as well. We knew that as it went we would win this series, commented KiPan, who scored two runs in the opening period Samu-Kalle Varonen.

The underperformer of the summer was Hyvinkää’s Tahko, whose season ended in ninth place. Pattijoki Urheilijat ended Tahko’s season with a home win 1–0 (4–0, 2–2). It took the Raahelaites to the quarterfinals against Manse PP, the winner of the regular season.

PattU’s awardees were the top hitter who scored two runs Mikael Mäkelä (at 7/8) and the catcher Ville Veitkoski. The match series between Mansen and PattU also starts on Sunday.

On Saturday, the quarterfinals will see the opening games of the match series Sotkamo’s Jymy–Joensuun’s Maila and Vimpel’s Veto–Kempele’s Kiri.
