New scam SMS – from “Krednor”
A few days ago, the debt collection company Sergel Inkasso was forced to go out and warn the public about fraudsters claiming to be from the company.
“We would like to inform you that you have an unpaid invoice case with reference: FK1535. To avoid reminder fees, contact us immediately at XXXXXXXXXX. Kind regards, Sergel Inkasso AB,” the fraudsters’ SMS reads.
Now yet another debt collection company has issued a warning about scam SMS, namely Norwegian Kredinor. The fraudulent text message states that the company has granted a loan and that the money will be paid out within the next few days.
“Thank you, your loan application has now been approved and will be paid out within 1-3 banking days.”, the text message reads according to Advice & Opinion. A number for “customer service” is then listed.

However, the SMS can be revealed as a scam because the person who wrote it has misspelled Kredinor. The SMS ends with “With kind regards! Crednor”. The sender must also be listed as “Krednor”, which the attentive notices.
However, the company Kredinor also warns of similar scams, which means that there may be scam text messages that abound where Kredinor has been spelled correctly.
If you receive an SMS that you suspect is a scam, you should not call the number in the message, as this way the fraudster will come into direct contact with his intended victim.
