Drugs, currency and vehicles found in raid

Six Nations Police reported Tuesday that a large amount of oxycodone, currency and some stolen motor vehicles were recovered last month when they executed a search warrant on Second Line Road and Fourth Line Road.

During the July 11 raid, the officers arrested five people and seized about $7,300 worth of oxycodone, “bulk currency”, cell phones and vehicles.

Five people all face charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and two counts of tampering with vehicle identification numbers.

A 37-year-old man is also charged with trafficking, having the proceeds of crime over $5,000, possession of housebreaking instruments and breach of probation.

Two women, 65 and 57, were also charged with trafficking, proceeds of crime and possession of housebreaking instruments.

A 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman were also charged with having an unauthorized weapon.

One person was held in custody for a bail hearing and the others were released to appear in court later.

Police sixteen weapons and stolen vehicles

Also in July, Six Nations Police concluded a firearms investigation with a search warrant at a Seneca Road home.

Two people were taken into custody on July 5 and police found and seized multiple stolen vehicles and a prohibited weapon.

A 44-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both from Ohsweken, were charged with three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The man was also charged with possession of a weapon contrary to a court order.

Both were held in custody for a formal bail hearing.

Wanted man and woman chased down by officers

Additional Six Nations Police officers were called in to help after an officer recognized a wanted man who was working on several vehicles at a Bicentennial Trail home.

When the backup officers arrived on Aug. 2, a man tried to escape in one of the vehicles and a woman ran from a vehicle and was chased by officers.

Both were arrested and it was found both had outstanding warrants for their arrest from neighboring police services.

As well, both vehicles being worked on had been reported as stolen.

Police charged the 30-year-old Ohsweken man with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, assault with intent to resist arrest, tampering with a vehicle identification number, careless storage of firearm ammo and three counts of breach of probation

The 28-year-old Ohsweken woman was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, tampering with a vehicle identification number, careless storage of firearm ammo, obstructing police, breach of probation and failing to comply with a release order.

Both were held in custody for a formal bail hearing.

Stolen trailer found during police raid

On July 25, Six Nations Police raided a Second Line Road and Fourth Line Road with search warrants, finding numerous firearms, ammunition, a stolen mobile trailer and a stolen off-road vehicle.

They arrested a 44-year-old Ohsweken man who has been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, nine counts of careless use or storage of a firearm or ammunition, eight counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of another weapon.

The man was held in custody for a bail hearing.
