Provence Landings Africa Remembers Its Soldiers Who Helped Liberate France

80 years ago, the French army landed in Provence on August 15, 1944 to liberate the country from the yoke of Nazi Germany. This army, then in full restructuring, was largely made up of soldiers from the colonies. Tens of thousands of Moroccans, Tunisians, Senegalese and others. The event is gradually being celebrated in Africa as well, with a desire to highlight the important role of these colonies.
