If you walk through the world of the early access version of Pax Dei, you will stumble across numerous plots of land owned by inactive players. Now the developers are taking a remarkable measure to solve this problem.
What is the current status of Pax Dei? A lot has happened in the world of the sandbox MMORPG since the start of the Early Access phase on June 18, 2024. The developers at Mainframe Industries have implemented numerous hotfixes and optimizations to get rid of Pax Dei’s worst problems.
Since this was successful, the team is now working on new content as well as expanding and improving existing systems and features – such as combat systems, PvP, social interaction, marketplaces or even PvE content for solo players (via Discord).
MeinMMO had already reported in its second preview report from July 2024 that the delay in the supply of content and features had taken its toll. The number of players fell significantly, which means that there are increasingly more inactive plots of land in the world.
Strolling past all the abandoned houses and work equipment felt like walking through a graveyard of construction sites, slowing down the remaining active communities and preventing new players from finding a good place for their own plot.
The world of Pax Dei is beautiful, here is the trailer for the Early Access launch:
Understandable but drastic measure
How do the developers approach the problem? On the one hand, the new content and expanded features are intended to attract as many players as possible back to the world of Pax Dei. On the other hand, the devs had already announced via Discord in July that they wanted to carry out a cleanup in August to remove abandoned plots and thus create new space.
Now the developers revealed the specific dates for the cleanup on their Discord channel:
According to the developers, all (!) of the following criteria must be met for a property to be removed: Properties are affected,
Also affected are properties
If you are concerned that your property may be affected, the developers have a simple tip for you: Log into Pax Dei before August 19th and place an item on your property or craft something there.
How does MeinMMO rate the campaign? Due to the large number of criteria that must be met at the same time, the developers ensure that only players who have been inactive for a while are affected.
Nevertheless, the cleanup has a certain bad taste to it. After all, Early Access costs between 40 and 100 euros, depending on the edition, and one advantage of the Founder’s Pack reads as follows on Steam:
We would therefore like to know from you: What do you think of the campaign?
