The respected formation skating coach Anu Oksanen is moving to the competitor’s coaching team.
Marigold has coached IceUnity for decades Anu Oksanen is related Mirjami Penttinen to pilot Team Unique’s coaching staff. Oksanen also continues as a coach of SM juniors in Tikkurila Figure Skating Club.
– This “side job” in Unique’s team now allows me to continue to participate in the top formation. At the same time, it has been strange, but also interesting, when I have been able to see the activities of a former competing team for me. However, I had coached their competitor for 31 years and now I am unexpectedly on Unique’s ice, in their team, Oksanen told Urheilu.
Oksanen’s long-term coaching career at Marigold IceUnity ended unexpectedly last spring. Marigold has won the world championship five times.
The head coach Mirjami Penttinen the coaching team piloted by has also been completed with new faces. Coached and choreographed in Kaarina for years Blue Lagercrantz joined the team already in the spring.

– In the spring, I had several different options where to continue coaching, both at home and abroad. In the spring, I was also offered a place in the coaching teams of HSK’s SM teams, but I still made the choice to go to Tikkurila and develop my future there, Oksanen said.
– From the very first moment, the skaters and the coaching have received me wonderfully and have shown their gratitude for being able to use my professionalism, expertise and experience, just like in Tikkurila. So it’s nice to work in addition to my own new job in a club, team and coaching team where I, my work and my skills are valued, Oksanen added.
