In Soest, the commemoration is traditionally held at the Resistance Monument on the Verzetsplein. The ceremony, organized by the Stichting Comité 4 en 5 mei Soest en Soesterberg in collaboration with Vereniging Insulinde, starts at 12:00 and ends around 13:30. Veterans from the Indies and New Guinea from the region will be present, which makes the commemoration extra meaningful.
