Kraven the Hunter with Aaron Taylor-Johnson is part of Sony’s Marvel universe

Kraven the Hunter is a Spider-Man villain in the comics and is part of Sony’s superhero universe, which is already populated by Venom, Madame Web and Morbius. The official synopsis is as follows:

Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays Kraven, a man whose complex relationship with his ruthless father Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe) leads him on a Campaign of revenge with brutal consequences which motivates him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of the most feared. Alessandro Nivola plays Marvel villain Rhino

But who will be able to face the anti-hero Kraven? The new trailer gives a detailed look at an old acquaintance among the Marvel villains: Rhino. Alessandro Nivola (Jurassic Park III) plays the mercenary Aleksei Sytsevich, who can transform into a mixture of human and rhinoceros.

This means that director JC Chandor’s film takes a more animalistic approach than Rhino’s last live-action appearance.

In the now 10-year-old The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro, Paul Giamatti played Rhino as a member of the Russian mafia who ends up fighting Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man with the help of mecha weapons. The brief appearance had no consequences, as the Spider-Man series did not receive a sequel and was rebooted with Tom Holland. In Kraven the Hunter Rhino gets a second chance, so to speak.
