Heliovaara and Patten had to give up their opening match

The match was the first for the duo after Heliövaara’s concussion.

A tennis player Harri Heliövaaran and his doubles pair of Henry Patten taival in the doubles of the ATP tournament in Cincinnati, USA, got off to a winning start.

The seventh-placed duo beat the United States late on Wednesday evening Finnish time Brandon Nakashima and of William Woodall by 6–4, 6–3. Nakashima and Woodall entered the tournament with the help of a wild card.

Next, the Finnish-British pair will face Croatia by Nikola Mektic and the Netherlands by Wesley Koolhof.

Heliövaara and Patten’s previous tournament in Montreal ended in the opening match due to an unfortunate situation. Heliövaara and Patten bumped their heads together while chasing the same ball, and the Finn got a concussion.

Before the start of the tournament in Cincinnati, Heliövaara said that he is ready to play when the games in the USA start.
