Russia seeks workers for trenches: “Convenient”

After Ukraine’s massive offensive, new satellite images show trenches being dug deep into Kursk.
And workers are now being sought for the trenches – where no previous experience is required.
“We are an employer that offers all comfortable working conditions”, they write in one of the advertisements.

The satellite images have been posted on OSINTtechnical, an X account that gathered intelligence about the war.

There, trenches under construction can be seen between 45 and 75 kilometers into the Kursk region from the Ukrainian border. Even the BBC has verified new trenches near the nuclear power plant in Kursk.

“Offers all comfortable working conditions”

The BBC has also found around 30 advertisements where workers for the trenches are wanted.

In one of the ads, “General construction workers” are wanted for a full-time position. There, the employer attracts with a monthly salary of between SEK 17,000 and 25,000, salary payment twice a month, meals and uniform.

“We are an employer that offers all comfortable working conditions!”, reads one of the advertisements.

Before being sent to Kursk, two weeks of paid practice await.

Continued Ukrainian advances

No previous experience is necessary, they write further.

According to the ISW think tank, Ukraine is estimated to have taken control of 800 square kilometers in Russia since the offensive began.

“We continue to advance in the Kursk region. Between one and two kilometers in several different areas during the day,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed X earlier on Wednesday.
