Bison Futé: what traffic for the weekend of August 15? The forecasts

Bison Fute what traffic for the weekend of August 15

Traffic is expected to be very heavy from this Thursday, August 15. Bison futé predicts a dark day for Saturday across a large part of France.

On the occasion of the Assumption, celebrated this Thursday, August 15, many French people will take a few days of vacation. And the weekend of August 15 promises to be busy on the major French roads. “The majority of traffic flows will be from the south of the country to the north. However, the waves of returns will spread out over all the days of this weekend”, and especially at the end of the week, informs Bison Futé. The first difficulties will appear from the middle of the week. But traffic will increase from Friday, in both directions.

Traffic will be heavy on the motorways serving the Atlantic coast, such as the A10 and the A63, and the N165 national road in the return direction, warns Bison futé. The roads leaving from the Mediterranean coast will also be very congested, particularly on the A7, A9, A75 and A61 motorways. In Île-de-France, slowdowns are also expected on the A6 and A10 motorways between mid-afternoon and late evening.

Traffic difficulties this weekend

Saturday, traffic will be very difficult, even extremely difficult: the day is classified as orange, even red in the direction of departures and red and black in the direction of returns. Difficulties are expected on the main motorway axes. In Île-de-France, the expected flows at the various toll barriers will be significant. Traffic difficulties are particularly expected between mid-afternoon and early evening. In order to avoid long traffic jams in the direction of departures, Bison futé recommends avoiding leaving or crossing Île-de-France before 2 p.m.

On Sunday, “in Île-de-France, the return from summer holidays added to those from the weekend could make traffic difficult depending on the sector,” warns Bison futé. The main difficulties will be concentrated on the A10, the A13 and the A16 between the beginning of the afternoon and the end of the evening.
