The only thing that can make Iran not carry out a revenge attack on Israel is a cease-fire agreement in Gaza, three high-ranking Iranian representatives told the Reuters news agency.

One of the sources, a senior Iranian security official, claims that Iran and its allies will launch an attack if the talks fail or if Israel appears to drag out the negotiations.

Iran has vowed to punish Israel for the deadly attacks on Hamas leader Ismail Haniya and Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr.

Several Western countries have urged Iran not to carry out a revenge attack on Israel, but Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has responded that the country does not give in to “bullying” and has the right to respond to aggressors.
