The Royal Dutch Hospitality Association (KHN) says that catering establishments are increasingly focused on a specific target group. “There are adults-only hotels, clubs where you can only enter from the age of 18, 21 or 23, and also restaurants that specifically focus on a target group, such as child-friendly restaurants,” says a spokesperson for KHN.

KHN believes that using an access age in restaurants is permitted. “However, it is important that you communicate those rules clearly, for example via house rules and the website. And that you then also consistently apply that rule to everyone in the same way,” the spokesperson explains.
