It has now been just over a week since Bangladesh ended 15 years of Sheikh Hasina’s rule. Student protests that began in early July intensified and eventually toppled the government. Now, two students are members of the interim government. This movement that eventually drew millions of Bangladeshis to the streets, but which began with a modest rally at the country’s oldest university. RFI met one of the instigators of this revolt.
