Spotlight Hour on August 13, 2024 – Start and Bonuses
When does the spotlight hour start? The event starts on August 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. It ends at 7:00 p.m. and the usual spawns return.
Which bonus is active? During this period, you will receive double candy for all monsters you catch. This also applies to raid bosses, for example.
Is there a shiny Lilypad? Yes, you can catch it. However, the chances are not increased, so you need a lot of luck.
Is the spotlight hour worth it? So-so. Lilypad is not one of the best attackers in Pokémon GO. The same goes for its evolution, Wylie. Neither of them is useful as raid attackers.
There are also many better alternatives in the PvP league. The further development Wielie still makes it to 99th place in the PvPoke rankings (via pvpoke.com).
The event is most likely to be worthwhile if you take advantage of the candy bonus for other monsters.
