Seinäjoki Football Club secured a place in the top six of the Veikkausliiga by winning the VPS.
In the men’s football league’s only match of the evening, SJK won 3-1 in the Ostrobothnia derby against Vaasa Palloseura.
The Seinäjoki players were responsible for the goals in the first half Rasmus Karjalainen and Valentin Roman Gasc.
He completed the home team’s third hit Jaime Jose Moreno Ciorciari. He was responsible for VPS’ only goal Mads Borchers.
With the win, SJK rose to third in the standings and ensured that they continue to the Championship after the regular season.
The regular season will be played in three rounds of matches.
The VPS player was kicked out with a straight red
Having played an excellent early season, VPS has risen to sixth place in the series and is only three points ahead of FC Inter, who occupy the last place in the championship series. With the loss, the Vaasa team have lost five of their last six league matches. Including Finnish Cup matches and European games, VPS has lost eight of its last nine matches.
– On the mental side, it squeezes. We are not getting the result we want, and this trend has continued for a long time. There are too many mistakes, and the opponent punishes hard, and we concede goals too easily. We just don’t have enough against the top teams at the moment, admitted the head coach of VPS Jussi Nuorela.
At the end of the match, feelings really heated up, resulting in VPS Prosper Ahiabu was sent off the field with a straight red card. Ahiabu would hit a couple of home team players in the head area with his hands in a square meeting of several players, which was enough for the judge.
