The Angolan Head of State and African Union mediator for the peace process in the DRC, João Lourenço, arrived in Kinshasa on Monday 12 August, where he had a one-on-one meeting with his Congolese counterpart, Félix Tshisekedi. At the heart of the discussions: the evolution of the situation in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the assessment of the ceasefire signed between Kinshasa and Kigali. The two presidents expressed their satisfaction with the progress made.
