It was announced as Avatar 3: Fire and Ash. We are going on a grand adventure with James Cameron, new Na’vi clans and a star-studded cast.
James Cameron announced the official title for the third film in Cameron’s Avatar series, which will be set on Pandora with Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington, at the D23 event: “Avatar: Fire and Ash“. Although no footage from the new film has been shown, some concept art has emerged.
Avatar 3: Fire and Ash Introduces New Characters
Cameron emphasized that Avatar: Fire and Ash will take viewers to new parts of Pandora that they have never seen before, describing the experience as “a mind-blowing adventure and a visual feast.” Cameron stated that the film will have “high emotional stakes” and also guaranteed that the characters will face complex challenges. Jake and Neytiri will meet a new Na’vi clan known as the “Ash People” in this episode. Cameron said that one of the new characters will catch the audience’s attention and that this character will be someone “you will either love or hate.”
Avatar: Fire and Ashes was filmed alongside Avatar: The Way of Water, which continues the story that began in 2009 and is set to be released in 2022. Cameron initially planned both films as a single production, but decided to split them into two parts due to the breadth of the story, with a fourth part already in development.
