Panic in London early this afternoon. A woman and a little girl were stabbed this Monday in the heart of the British capital. The attack took place in Leicester Square, not far from the banks of the Thames and Buckingham Palace, early this afternoon, as announced by Westminster police on social media. At 12:36 French time (11:36 London time), paramedics were called to rescue two people after a knife attack, reports the BBC.
According to initial information provided by the authorities, the victims are a 34-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl. They were both taken to hospital. Leicester Square is one of London’s iconic squares. The location is particularly popular with film tourists since four large cinemas are installed there and it is regularly in one of them that the previews of major films are screened. It is also the scene of a strong agitation in the evening since many nightclubs are also present in the area.
