The Summer Olympics in Paris ended at the Stade de France. The five ring races got the decision they deserved and the Olympic flag was escorted on its way to Los Angeles.
The Paris Olympics culminated on Sunday with the closing ceremony. Unlike the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony was celebrated at the Stade de France. The weather was also more favorable on the last day of the Games.
Although the event was centered on the Parisian stadium, some parts of the closing ceremony had already been filmed in advance.
As had been guessed on the basis of the leaked information beforehand, the closing ceremony saw, among other things, an acting legend Tom Cruise’s stunt as well Snoop Dogg’s and Billie Eilish’s performances. The US artists performed in the 2028 Summer Olympic city of Los Angeles, from where the performances were broadcast using a remote connection.
During the evening, many French musicians were also heard, such as the one who performed at the beginning Zaho de Sagazania and the indie rock band Phoenixia.
At the end of the three-hour event, Paris handed over the Olympic flag to the host of the upcoming summer games and the Olympic flame was extinguished.
