Utrecht University advises international students in particular to start their search in time. “Do you not have a room or other living space at the start of your studies? Then reconsider your decision to study in Utrecht,” says a spokesperson.
The organization of the UIT week also sees that housing is a topic that students talk about. “During the UIT week, UIT mentors share their tips and experiences, so they help each other,” says chairwoman Lotte van Buuren. “Start looking in time, register with a housing corporation and use your network and ask around with friends, family and fellow students. Sometimes the best opportunities come from personal contacts,” she advises.
