Russia claims to have stopped Ukrainian advance in Kursk region

The Russian Defense Ministry acknowledged on Monday, August 12, that Ukrainian troops had made a breakthrough of about 30 kilometers inside the Kursk region, north of the Russian-Ukrainian border. The Russian government, however, claims to have managed to stop their advance and promises a firm response to this attack, which, in its eyes, targets civilians.
