Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi says on his Telegram channelthat Russia has started a fire in the area of the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine.
In connection with the Telegram update, there is a video in which, according to Zelenskyi, smoke can be seen rising from the area of the nuclear power plant.
According to Zelenskyi, the radiation figures are normal for now.
– As long as Russian terrorists keep the nuclear power plant in their will, the situation is not and cannot be normal, says Zelenskyi.
Russia has occupied the nuclear power plant since spring 2022.
An official from the city of Nikopol, which is located near the power plant, said that according to unofficial information, Russians have been burning car tires in the area of the power plant. He urged the residents of the area to remain calm.
