MrBeast, YouTube’s golden boy, finally responds to the scandal that threatens his career

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is the most successful YouTuber in the world. But he is currently going through the most difficult phase of his career. While he seems to be trying to sit out the situation publicly, he is reacting internally to the many problems.

Which scandal endangers his career? MrBeast’s career has been under constant fire for about a month now. It seems as though there is more and more coming since the dam broke:

  • On July 21, allegations were made against an important member of MrBeast’s crew, Ava Kris Tyson: Tyson is said to have sent inappropriate messages to minors (via sportskeeda).
  • On July 24, allegations were made against MrBeast himself that he was a fraud, that he had manipulated videos and events, and that he had issued autograph cards that he had not even signed.
  • On August 8, further allegations were made that MrBeast employed registered sex offenders, whom he later had to fire, and that he covered up scandals and misconduct (via gamestar).

    Heavy criticism of MrBeast because he seems to be sitting out the scandal

    How does MrBeast deal with this in public? In principle, not at all. There is no statement from MrBeast.

    On YouTube, he just seemed to carry on. He apparently had thousands of negative comments deleted under his new video from August 3rd, which were trying to pressure him to make a statement, as YouTuber Asmongold was able to confirm in a self-experiment.

    Internal memo from MrBeast to employees becomes known:

    What does he do internally? As revealed by a report, MrBeast sent an internal memo to its employees on Wednesday to explain what it is doing now (via yahoo):

    As your manager, I take responsibility and am committed to improving and developing my leadership style. I recognize that I must also create a culture where all of our employees feel safe and can do their best work.

    A “full assessment” of all its activities is now to be initiated. It is also planned:

  • A new head of human resources is to be hired.
  • An opportunity should be created to complain anonymously about grievances.
  • All employees should receive mandatory training in “safety, sexual harassment, LGBTQ, diversity, sensitivity training and workplace conduct.”
  • An investigation is underway into whether participants in his new game show were mistreated.

    • In addition, MrBeast has hired a law firm to investigate Ava Kris Tyson’s behavior.

    This memo was sent out to employees on Wednesday, Yahoo reports. A spokesperson for MrBeast confirmed the authenticity of this memo.

    Despite scandal, MrBeast remains successful

    However, the spokesperson suggests that the allegations against MrBeast probably do not have a major impact on his success. His latest video from August 3, the one with the many nasty comments, was the second most successful video on the channel, managing to reach 100 million views in a very short time.

    MrBeast has repeatedly drawn attention to himself with spectacular actions. In some cases, however, this has also sparked criticism.
