Police acquitted innocent moped driver – acquitted of criminal charges

It was at the beginning of May that a person allegedly tried to shoot a man in a pub. During the hunt for the perpetrator, a moped driver was seen who the police patrol believed could have been involved in the crime.

But when the police arrested the moped driver, it turned out that he was not the culprit.

According to chief prosecutor Martin Tidén, it was negligent on the part of the police not to have taken more measures to ensure that it was the perpetrator who was observed.

“However, it is not possible to show that the negligence was punishable,” he writes.
