  • Five dead in attack in Syria

    Five Iran-backed militiamen have been killed and several wounded in an unknown drone attack in eastern Syria, near the border with Iraq, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said.

    Iran has significant influence in Deir Ezzor province, where the attack occurred, and the area is a frequent target of US and Israeli strikes, according to the Britain-based Observatory.

    In June, the organization reported that three pro-Iranian militiamen, as well as at least two Iraqis, were killed in an airstrike in the same part of the country.

    It is not yet clear who was behind the attack.

    The Israeli military, the IDF, has once again ordered residents of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza to evacuate. On Sunday morning, the IDF issued an evacuation order for several neighborhoods in the city, including an area designated by Israel as a humanitarian zone.

    “Hamas and terrorist organizations continue to fire rockets from your areas. Israel will strike hard against these entities. For your safety, you must evacuate these areas immediately,” the message read.

    The evacuations come a day after an Israeli drone attack on a school in Gaza City killed around 80 people, according to Hamas-controlled authorities.

    Israel has said the attack targeted a militant command center at the school, and that at least 19 militiamen belonging to terror-labeled Hamas and Islamic Jihad were killed.

  • Elderly woman robbed in her home – perpetrators broke in

    An elderly woman was carjacked in her home in Västerås on Saturday.

    The doorbell rang and when the woman in her 80s opened, several perpetrators forced their way into her apartment.

    According to VLT The perpetrators are said to have pushed and held the woman down on the floor while they robbed her of valuables.

    They stole her mobile phone and other possessions in the home.

    The woman is said not to have been physically injured.

    A preliminary investigation into aggravated robbery has been launched and a technical examination will be carried out in the residence.

  • Man dead in house fire in Strömsund

    During Saturday, a villa in a village in Strömsund municipality caught fire.

    Now the police announce that an elderly man died in the fire.

    SMHI issues warnings about the risk of forest fire.

    The warnings apply to Östra Götaland, Svealand and Gotland.

    “The risk of forest fires is high or very high,” writes SMHI.

    Forest fires can easily occur due to, for example, ignition, sparks from machines or lightning strikes.

    Therefore, SMHI writes that “great care should be taken when burning outdoors, often fire bans apply”.

  • Abuse in Laholm – kicked in the head

    There was an assault in Laholm during the night to Sunday.

    The police were alerted shortly before 01:00. A man in his 20s calls the police when he has been beaten near an industrial area.

    Several people allegedly kicked and hit him in the head, among other things.

  • Man robbed – kicked and beaten

    A 45-year-old man has been robbed in Alingsås.

    It happened at Östlykkan during the night of Sunday.

    The man states that he was jumped by two men who kicked and punched him – and took his mobile phone.

    The two suspected perpetrators then disappeared from the scene. The 45-year-old man was able to get home and call the police.

    The ambulance checked him but it is unclear if he needed to be taken to the hospital.

    A robbery report has been filed, but there are currently no suspects.

  • Big fight in Eskilstuna – three arrested

    There was a major fight in Eskilstuna during the night of Sunday.

    It happened in the Nyfors area and the police were called to the scene at 03:30.

    In connection with the fight, there was also a minor traffic accident between two passenger cars.

    At the scene, the police were able to arrest three suspects. The arrested men are aged 25-30.

    They are suspected of serious assault, threats against a civil servant and attempted violence against a civil servant.

    No one is said to have been seriously injured.

  • Woman exposed to rape in Stockholm

    During the night of Sunday, a woman was raped by hitherto unknown perpetrators near Humlegården in Stockholm.

    – On the way home from a night out, this woman is harassed by several people. It further leads to a rape, says Carina Skagerlind, police spokesperson.

    The police are looking for several suspected perpetrators.

    Investigative measures are ongoing and the police will go through surveillance cameras in the area. Interrogations will also be held.

  • One man stabbed – three arrested

    A man has been injured with a sharp object on Södermalm and is seriously injured.

    It happened during the night of Sunday. The police were alerted to the incident at 04:30.

    – It must have happened outdoors outside a pub/nightclub at Södra Mälarstrand, says Carina Skagerlind.

    According to information to Aftonbladet, it is outside the night club boat Patricia.

    The police have arrested three people who are suspected of the crime. All those arrested are between 20-25 years old.

    The incident is classified as attempted murder or manslaughter.
