Halland study: Vaccine provided better protection against covid-19 than antibodies after illness

The study was already started in the first summer with covid-19 and has focused on immunity and antibodies.

– The immune system is extremely complex and we have only looked at a small part. We know that other parts also play a role in the development of immunity, the antibodies do not reflect the whole truth, says Emma Löfström, senior physician at the microbiologist at Halland Hospital.

Surveys about covid every week

The researchers have also studied the participants’ symptoms and well-being. From the summer of 2020, they had to answer surveys every week about quality of life and health after corona.

Now the study is completely finished and the researchers have started to publish the results.

In the clip below, doctor Emma Löfström talks about three important findings in the study.
