A 26-year-old Norfolk County man has been charged with mischief in connection with causing damage inside a Simcoe home.

Norfolk OPP were called to an Oakwood Avenue home at about 4:45 pm on Aug. 2 and took a suspect into custody.
The accused is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order.
Intimate partner violence leads to two people being charged
Two Norfolk residents are facing charges related to separate incidents of intimate partner violence.
At about 4:45 am on Aug. 4, OPP investigated a dispute at a Norfolk County home where a person was physically assaulted and their property damaged. No injuries were reported.
A 22-year-old is charged with assault; fail to comply with a probation order; and mischief under $5,000.
Just after 10 pm on Aug. 5, police were called to another home in Norfolk County where there was damage to a person’s property during an argument.

An 18-year-old is charged with mischief — domestic.

Man facing assault, shoplifting charges
A suspected shoplifter was taken into custody following an unrelated investigation into an assault in Simcoe.
At about 3:30 pm on Aug. 5, Norfolk OPP investigated a reported assault near Wellington Park in Simcoe.
Police say one person was physically assaulted during an argument between two people. The person reported “moderate” injuries, say police.

During the investigation, police say officers discovered the suspect involved in the assault matched the description of someone reported to have stolen alcohol from a business on Queensway East in Simcoe earlier in the day.
An 18-year-old Norfolk County man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and theft under $5,000 — shoplifting.
Police investigating theft of tools from pickup truck
Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a group of thieves who stole about $1,500 worth of power tools from a pickup truck.
Police were called at about 12:45 am on Aug. 4 to investigate the theft on Rosseau Drive in Simcoe.
Police say a group of about five people, all described as having slim builds and wearing hooded sweatshirts, arrived at the home in a black pickup truck. They then forcibly opened a toolbox in the bed of a truck on the property and took the tools.
