There can only be one, but there will soon be at least one more Highlander: The legendary fantasy cult film series will soon be released as a reboot with Henry Cavill in the lead role. Until then, you can watch the original on TV again today.
Today on TV: This is what the cult adventure film Highlander with Christopher Lambert is about
Scotsman Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert) is amazed when he easily survives a fatal injury. He soon finds out that he immortal – unless someone cuts off his head. The Spaniard Ramirez (Sean Connery) trains him and introduces him to the world of the so-called Highlanders.
There are more of these immortals, and they are doomed to fight each other. If one cuts off the head of the other, he absorbs all of his strength. Which means that even many centuries later, MacLeod still has to fight against his bitterest enemy.

In Highlander, archaic sword fights also take place in modern times.
Highlander is really fun and will soon be remade
If you fancy brutal sword fights and beautiful backdrops Highlander is the right place for you. On top of that, you get a big dose of 1980s flair and an outstanding soundtrack that was largely influenced by Queen. Even though it is still worth seeing, the film does show its age in some parts.
This is where the planned Highlander remake comes into play. It sounds quite promising. On the one hand, the Henry Cavill, who has already had sword fighting experience through The Witcher in the lead role, on the other hand, John Wick director Chad Stahelski wants to invent a completely new type of sword fighting for his remake.
If your heart generally beats for fantasywe can only warmly recommend the following article. Because a director who made four of the greatest fantasy films of all time has simply disappeared from Hollywood. Even 12 years later, the career of this blockbuster genius is still a mystery.
