We do not have an approach based on “We will shut down whatever they do or behave”. The point that should not be overlooked is that unfortunately these platforms do not display the democratic approach that we, as a country, display. We are always in communication with all platforms. Our wish is for them to continue their activities. But of course we will be following up on the sensitivities of our society and country, which we call catalogue crimes.

From the beginning, we have asked social media platforms to respect the laws of the Republic of Turkey. As a result of our meetings with Instagram officials, we will lift the access block as of 21:30, after they promised to meet our demands, especially within the scope of catalogue crimes, and to work together on the censorship imposed on users.”
